Martin Kuchen leads the magnificently powerful Angles 9 band through 7 compositions, with trumpeter Magnus Broo alongside Alexander Zethson on piano, Mattias Stahl on vibraphone, Jonan Berthling on bass, Andreas Werliin on drums, Eirik Hegdal on baritone and soprano sax, Mats Aleklint on trombone & Goran Kajfes on cornet. Across the album, there is great variety in the music, with extreme changes of mood between tracks. During the last International Ottawa Jazz Festival we were able to enjoy the band live. This recording was considered by many critics in Europe and North America as one of the best of the year in 2014.
