Pierre-Yves Martel initially was a bassist but he quickly switched to the viola de gamba, a renaissance instrument. As if this wasn’t enough with a niche musical instrument, Martel also started to explore sounds of all kinds using his viola and lots of different and unexpected objects. Pierre-Yves project with tuba player Hübsch and pianist Zoubek will appear this week at the record centre on Wellington st at 2pm and in a house concert (see https://www.pymartel.com/concerts.cfm )
