Dutch pianist Jasper Van’t Hof ironically was based in Paris where he collaborated with all kinds of musicians who were passing through the City, from Archie Shepp to Charlie Mariano. In other words he masters both straight ahead and Free Jazz. Tonight we will sample his 2011 solo recording Whybecause that is a pure gem in my opinion.
