The Blue Notes was a racially integrated jazz ensemble that began in the early 60's in South Africa during the height of apartheid. They Palyed clandestinely throughout South Africa but eventually went into self imposed exile throughout Europe. The record label, Ogun Records has released a 5-CD box of their material between 1964 and 1987.
