The Improvising Musicians of Ottawa/Outaouais will be presenting its third yearly IMOO-Fest this coming Friday and Saturday at Club Saw. It will feature both well-known local improvisers and two groups from neighboring avant-garde Jazz hot spots of Toronto and Montreal with Lina Alemano and Jean Derome. IMOO reached the watermark of a 100 concerts last spring and to that occasion, a number of local musicians teamed up to put together a concert that was fortunately recorded by one of them, cellist Mark Molnar. This recording was turned into an IMOO CD vol. 4. This CD will of course be on sale at IMOO-Fest and any of the subsequent IMOO concerts. Tonight, we will explore the music of the various artists featured at IMOO-Fest 2014.
