Beach Combers treasure trove part I

Today, I will feature quite an assortment of music that I picked up during my vacation. This week, this will include: 1. Bergman, Dudas, Guantes Lodge out CD 2. Cecil Taylor Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly! CD 3. Earl Hines/Sidney Bechet/Zutty Singleton’s Blues in Thirds composition 4. Alsatian Gypsy Yorgui Loeffler’s Les Enfants de Django 5. A Rag from Scott Joplin recorded from a rare piano roll 6. John Coltrane’s Blue Train And finally, as some of you may know Doug Martin’s composition Kafka Was Here entered the finals of some competition in the UK, so maybe it is time to re-listen to this intriguing, non-resolving composition that in itself is a cocktail of styles. And to ensure that you don`t miss an opportunity to listen to Jazz Accordion, we will listen to a cut by accordionist Viviane Arnoux that will be performing at Les Brasseurs du Temps this weekend.
