The Portland-born female bass virtuoso, vocalist and composer continues to leave a trailblazing mark in jazz. She demonstrates artistry of the highest rank, whether it be with her proficient technique, her ever-changing compositional styles, or her effortless ability to perform. The 38 year-old is pushing the boundaries with her music which embodies an original jazz sound infused with rock, soul, funk, Latin, and elements of the avant-garde.
She is a Berklee college alumni and has made history as the colleges’ youngest teacher at just 20 years old. In 2017, she was appointed professor of the Practice of Music at Harvard University.
Her presence in the jazz community is innovative, powerful and cannot be ignored. Esperanza is a jazz force to be reckoned with!
