In this session, only one album is selected represent each decade. However the host specifically highlights critically acclaimed records created by Black jazz artists in honour of Black History Month. As listeners journey through every decade, they can expect to learn more about jazz music’s endlessly fascinating history. In the first half, the audience will hear music from artists including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Herbie Hancock. The second half will spotlight artists such as Joe Henderson, Jason Moran, Esperanza Spalding, and Terri Lyne Carrington.
