Tenor saxophonist Ike Quebec was born August 17, 1918 in Newark, New Jersey. We celebrate his warm tenor sound tonight.
Ike Quebec led four recordings sessions for Blue Note between 1959 and 1962 that were intended to yield 45's to be played in juke boxes in the southern United States. Tonight we listen to most of the music that were recorded at the sessions.
