The great but under-appreciated tenor player Tina Brooks, whose classic Blue Note recordings were mostly unreleased during his short lifetime.
Tonight we follow the sadly foreshortened career of Tina Brooks, a superb tenor player at his peak in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Drug addiction soon took him out of action, but his music still lives.
