Ottawa guitarist Roddy Ellias will be in the studio to comment on his latest CD STICKS and STONES. This recording is a marvel of Swiss watch precision. Ellias’ acoustic guitar weaves its way through a style that one could call deconstructed collective improvisation. Everybody follows everybody wherever they go as one, all in a fugue manner that would make Johann Sebastian Bach green of envy. On the guitar side, Ellias displays a rare skill of independence of fingers. Effectively, Ellias manages to play parallel lines with different dynamics.
