In A Mellow Tone
Wednesday October 11th, 2017 with Bernard Stepien
Pianist Kenny Barron

Pianist Kenny Barron told me in the end of the ‘70s that he had problems finding a recording label because all major labels already had a house pianist like Herbie Hancock or Chick Corea, etc… The solution to this problem was to record with lots of smaller labels with as many combination of musician as possible. Now that Barron records with major labels, the habit of seeking exotic associations with musicians continues. Tonight we will explore his duo CD with Dave Holland, The Art Of Conversation and another CD where he explores Brazilian music.
