In A Mellow Tone
Wednesday November 18th, 2015 with Bernard Stepien
Toronto guitarist Ken Aldcroft

Ken Aldcroft is a key musician on the Toronto improvised music scene. A very prolific recording catalog with 20 CDs under his name, it is sometimes difficult to follow this hyperactive musician. These activities landed him exotic associations with legendary heavy weight such as New York City bassist William, Parker, Amsterdam's bassist Wilbert DeJoode and American, Europe based saxophonist and trombonist Joe McPhee on the international scene and clarinetist Lori Freedman and saxophonist Andy Haas on the canadian scene. His long list of recordings (CDs) tells it all. It is a long process of building a voice on a strangely accoustic sounding electric guitar, each time driving in deeper territories. Ken Aldcroft will be performing solo and with guest Linsey Wellman in the IMOO series on November 27th at the Raw Sugar Café.
