Lots of bad covers out there. I’m a huge fan of great covers and I have a ridiculous number of “tribute” albums to prove it. Keep your ears peeled for future episodes featuring Guy Clark and Shel Silverstein covers.

Funny. “Randall Knife” is the song that turned me on to Guy Clark. I heard it on CKCU driving to work one morning. There are so many great Guy Clark tunes I’m betting I can do a whole show without including it.

Thanks for a terrific show and for giving such generous time to Beautiful: A Tribute to Gordon Lightfoot — one of my favorite discs. All the great artists really do the songs justice and in some cases their covers are better than the original versions.
