A survey of the solo career of Mark Ripp (lead singer of the critically acclaimed Scarborough roots rockers The Bel-Vistas)
In 1990 The Bel-Vistas released their self-titled EP. Two full length albums Somewhere Down The Line and Pretty Ugly followed. The band garnered critical praise but fame eluded them. Lead singer and songwriter Mark Ripp then embarked on a solo career that has seen six releases. Tonight I survey his solo career and add in a few choice live performances recorded in Ottawa by legendary sound man and CKCU DJ Mark Valcour.
