Many of these songs were banned from the radio by the FCC who deemed the songs as being too suggestive for public airplay. | We pay over $50,000 a year in rent to Carleton University. $27,000 a year for Broadcast Tower Rental. $15,000 a year electricity bill for our Transmitter. $20,000 for licences. $22,000 for insurance. The Engineering Contract for CKCU is $35,000 a year. It all adds up and yet we bring you incredibly eclectic programming for about $50 and hour.
Unlike TVO we do not receive any money from the Ontario government and unlike the CBC we receive no money from the federal government. This is TRUE PUBLIC RADIO.
