Meteor Records Hillbilly & Rockabilly Recordings from the Fifties.
Meteor Records was intially started to scout for and record black artists in the Memphis region. In 1954 William Cantrell & Quinton Claunch approached Sam Phillips at Sun Records with a country song they had written. Phillips passed on it and Lester Bihari, the head of Meteor jumped on it. "Daydreamin'" by Bud Deckelmen & The Daydreamers became a mid-South hit. With this success Bihari went on to record hillbilly & rockabilly artists until the label's demise three years later.
