A Love Supreme - 50 years

This was going to be the annual Oxford American show until I realized that yesterday/today mark the 50th anniversary of the recording of A Love Supreme - John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones making one of the greatest records ever. 32 minutes of blowing, chanting praise (actually, way more blowing than chanting, but the chanting is a kind of signature). And time left over for a very small sample of the 16th annual Oxford American Southern Music CD, this year featuring artists from Texas.
