Delegation of the Ismali Imamat Ottawa, Monday, January 8, 2018 – Music and Beyond is delighted to announce that Shashank Subramanyam, the undisputed master of the Indian flute, will join the musicians of Constantinople on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 at 4:00 pm as part of the “Four Skies – Four Seasons” series held at the stunning Delegation of the Ismali Imamat on Sussex Drive. This concert, called Under the Indian Musical Sky, is the 2nd of four concerts being presented by Music and Beyond, in partnership with the Aga Khan Museum and Constantinople. Grammy-nominated musician Shashank Subramanyam performs throughout the world and has made over 70 recordings. “I have been a huge fan of the superb Montreal-based ensemble Constantinople for many years,” states Music and Beyond’s artistic director Julian Armour. “I am delighted to be presenting an entire series with them that really showcases their extraordinary creativity and offers such an incredible roster of guest artists. The Delegation of the Ismali Imamat is a perfect location, too. It alone is worth the price of the ticket!” This concert will pay tribute to the late master of the sarangi, Dhruba Ghosh, who was a close collaborator of Constantinople.
