This week’s show was a classic sort of Midweek: a mix of a little bit of just about everything, hosted by Gwyneth Egan and Claire Hutcheon.
Team work really makes the dream work, especially when it comes to preparing and delivering a live radio show. The entire lineup was done, and the hosts had their scripts in their hands by 11:30 a.m. The production team took it upon themselves to have a meeting late last night to prepare a draft of the show’s lineup, curate scripts, and go-over their designated roles and duties prior to our 8:30 a.m. start-time.
Preparation truly is key!
At 12:06 p.m., our live show kicked-off without any glitches or blunders.
The featured stories included a pro-Palestinian rally in downtown Ottawa over the weekend, a welcome wagon for the John Howard Society’s Supportive Housing Program for Women, and the Ottawa Mission handing out over 16,000 meals; a new record for the organizations annual Thanksgiving dinner.
Next in the line-up was the implications of AI in academics, specifically the controversial tool known as ChatGPT.
There were also stories about a panel discussion on settler positionality at Carleton University and a seven-year-old from Ottawa South who was the victim of a pumpkin theft.
And then it was a wrap at 1:30 p.m. sharp. A success from start to finish!
See you next week!
