Lots of great tunes. And a mini focus on the most excellent compilation "ZeD - Live Off The Floor".

In today's episode, we are featuring several artists from the great mostly-Canadian compilation "ZeD - Live Off The Floor", sprinkled throughout. The album was based on the 2002 - 2006 experimental (at the time) "ZeD TV" on CBC television and interactive ZeD Web site. ZeD TV featured loads of up and coming artists, experimental video and web projects, including audience uploads and other participation in the process, and early exposure for many then little-known artists who are now well known ... well, and a few extinct. Most tracks are live or low take count (3 or fewer) performances, so have a nice raw feel compared to the fully (or over) produced album versions. ZeD was not explicitly advertised, so counted on audience word of mouth (hey, much like CKCU). Waaaaay ahead of its time! A really excellent compilation. Hope you agree! Originally released on CBC Records (Canada) and Phantom (US) in Dec 2003. It is now very hard to come by. If you spot it, don't hesitate!!
