I played soccer all my life and just so you know artificial turf is made of plastic and breaks down into microscopic bits. There is a higher incidence of lung cancer among goalies who are constantly falling down on the turf and inhaling these particles. So a choice of mud vs turf is not so simple.

#Ick to beans and lentils. However at one point I cooked up giant batches of lentils as part of dog food making that kept my dog alive for 2 extra years.

Or just let the kids play in mud? It's been like that for at least 35 years. I played on it when I was a kid. All the soccer fields in Ottawa are like that because of our climate. There's even different types of cleats to deal with different types of natural surfaces.

Drake & Dad
Since I am usually listening all day (not so much at night) Drake would be a CKCU supporter too. Although his joints are very challenging at this point, he does still dance with me in the kitchen on occasion. For many years he has danced with me in the kitchen, especially to reggae music. 2 years ago,, he survived cancer surgery and came back 100%. This year, near the end of Funding Drive, he faced another medical crisis and with the help of 2 Specialty Hospitals, he bounce back again to a full recovery, eating 3 meals a day and 4 or more walks a day. He has always been fearless, riding in boats, and 4 x 4 off road vehicles.. He could move a soccer ball across the field using his front paws and nose and go around you with ease. He has a huge heart !!! And of course.....he is a fan of Wednesday Special Blend.....so he is proud to sponsor next week's show! Loud and proud sponsor of all CKCU The Mighty 93.1 !!! I spent 8 years working for high tech companies. But I have never been on a single "uns-social media sites. Not Facebook or any other site. And I still have No apps on my phone or my laptop. My phone has voice calls or texts period !! Not even internet on my phone. Proud of that too! I am retired so I do not need any of it in my worklife. I did not need Facebook when I worked for Compaq, HP and Dell and the rest did not exist yet.
