Wednesday December 28th, 2022 with tic
# 945. COVID # 126.

Hour 1, 7-8 a.m.

Stephen Schijns created The Sixties on CKCU in 1983 (after a couple of years doing "The Good, The Bad, and The Sixties" at CFRC in 1980-82). When he left Ottawa in '85, Roch Pariesan, Ian McLeish, and Chris Lyne took the show on, and later on Dave Sampson did a great job with it for nearly three decades. He's just posted 70 of his Sixties CKCU programs on his website: https://schijnsmusic.com/sixties-music/the-sixties/

Good Morning tic, All the best for 2023–any chance you’ll be back in the studio or will you continue to record from home? Lots coming up for the Mighty 93 this year, too. So glad they are keeping me in the loop.

Here’s a song request based on your Breaking Bananas conversation. Yes then don’t break like they used to. The song is called “Bananas” by That 1 Guy.. His music and lyrics are really interesting.

Gone for a Burton? I think it refers to the disappearance of people. Perhaps down the pub drinking a pint of Burton Ale? Congrats Stanley on Wheel of names

Happy New Year to you tic.....I hope your "crappy things that happened in 2022" list is much shorter in 2023. Thank you for another year of great shows!

Sorry I'm a bit late listening to this show and thanks for playing The Photocopies "Gone For A Burton" - the original was by The Lilac Time - The British informal phrase to go for a burton (also Burton) means to meet with disaster, to be ruined, destroyed or killed.
