People, Words & Change (PWC), a non-profit literacy organization in Ottawa, celebrates their learners' successes each year at their Power of Words Breakfast. For 44 years, PWC has been helping adults with free one-on-one volunteer tutoring in reading, writing and digital literacy for learners to meet their own goals (such as employment, a better job or personal independence). The breakfast is an opportunity for the learners to tell their personal stories and how PWC has helped them reach their goals. https://pwc-ottawa.ca/ This year, the Keynote Speaker was Elizabeth Manley, former Canadian competitive figure skater. She is the 1988 Olympic Silver Medalist, the 1988 World Silver Medalist, and a three-time Canadian national champion. Among many other things, she is currently working as a certified Life/Executive Coach and Performance Coach helping individuals and athletes. Liz told her very personal story about her own mental health challenges, with a focus on resilience, breaking stigmas, and not being afraid to ask for help when you need to. |

Good morning tic, I have that Split Enz album and remember seeing them on that tour at Barrymores here in Ottawa and they put on a great show and they not only played some unique instruments they also had some very different outfits and hairstyles. Cool band 👌👍👏
