When the actors perform well in movies, its one thing, but when they keep their audiences gripped to the seats and leave them awestruck, it’s a totally different phenomenon. We have a long list of movies in Bollywood in which actors have taken on not just one role, but acted as doubles and even triples in some movies. Double roles are a challenging feat for the actors. But done well, they make the movie an extreme entertainer, full of comic situations, crazy plots and over the top performances by the actors. Today we are presenting songs from a few such movies- where the actors have taken up more than roles…and talk about some of the best performances by actors. The discussion would not start without the mention of the Dilip kumar starrer- Ram aur Shyam(1967) – in which Dilip Kumar who was known as the tragedy king, surprised the audience with his comic act. Portraying Ram (who is shy and cowardly) and his long lost twin brother Shyam (who is strong, brave and mischevious ). It was based on the story by Alexzander Dumas – The Corsican Brothers. Twins that get separated at birth and cross paths later in the life.
