This week on INSIDE JAZZ we celebrate the birth of Joe Lovano, born December 29, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. We hear Joe on tenor sax as part of two ensembles led by drummer Paul Motian. In the first hour presents the Paul Motian Trio's IT SHOULD'VE HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO recorded in July 1984 for the ECM label. In the second hour Ron features the Paul Motian Quintet's MYSTERIOSO recorded two years later on July 14-16, 1986 for the Soul Note label.

Thanks for your warm thoughts, Ron. Drake and I were both in emergency wards overlapping but we are both back home and doing fine. I hope ypou and Jim have both been having a wonderful time with family and friends as we close out 2024. Thank you both for bringing" Inside Jazz" to us all on , I only wish, Every Sunday.. Of course, then we need to open up some more air time for Paul.......gotta have my swing!! haha

On that note, I wish you, and Ron, and Jim, and Mark, and everyone at The Mighty CKCU who make this station, and especially this program so awesome, all the bestest in the New Year........health, happiness, and good cheer. Personally, I will be away to warmer climes in a different time zone, so unable to join the live chats I so enjoy.....until the April 6th. Counting the sleeps.. So this broadcast will undoubtedly have my full and undivided attention.....NFL Sunday be damned! Bring it on !!
