Happy Anniversity gentlemen!!! Jim, I hope and trust that you are fully recovered from your bout of illness. Ron and Jim........thank you ever so much for all you do, and for taking us listeners down your musical journeys. Now I was pretty sure I had heard this album. However, that track Church was wicked and threw me a curve because I don't remember it. Track 2 Little Red House I remember like it was yesterday. I knew I had heard this album and remember it blowing my mind. Thank you to my dear friend Michael Uhtoff who turned me on this album back when it was released and I have not heard it since then. MAKE MY DAY, Boys !!! Now THIS is an Anniversart Party !! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for all the Sunday journeys through the wonder of both your musical minds !!

1983 was a long time ago and it is as if I am hearing it for the first time all over again. Sadly, it does not make me feel 31 again hahahaha. Me bones creak along with the music lmfao.....oops it just fell off onto the floor.......doh haha

Neil, er, Crusty, I feel your situation. I was 29 in 1983. My bones creak perpetually.

This is bringing back the memories. I used to go to Mike's apartment off Elgin St. and we would always sit on the floor and play chess while we listened to his latest jazz from bin diving or off the new release rack, sometimes play backgammon and he taught me to play GO. I always beat him at backgammon, even match of chess matches, and I never beat him at GO. But we always listened to, and tried to introduce each other to, some new, or old, jazz artist. So thanks for bringing up those memories of an old friend and great times fueled by great music. This was such a good and unique album.

Bring it on, Ron ! I just found this online.............."n the late 1960’s, Kenny Wheeler’s wisdom teeth prevented him from playing and his dentist prescribed no trumpeting for three months." He must have started young !

Duly noted!! Next time you’re in Newfoundland, or if I’m in Ottawa, beers’ on me! Alas, I’m a ‘Johnny come lately’ when it comes to jazz……but better late than never. Ron took this middle aged grasshopper under his wing ……..and I’ve been feverishly playing catchup ever since. We’ve been to many a jazz gig together, and I enjoyed the music and comraderie each and every time. He is still my mentor whenever I endeavour to see a local gig, or when I’m abroad. He’s never steered me wrong!!

That's hilarious, Ron. You should go on tour with Jeff Laroque doing Stand Up Comedy. Good story. Great album. Very curious title to the album. Also curious.....when I first began to listen to jazz it was all about guitar and tenor sax........today, as you know boys, it's baritone and bass with a dash of drums across the ages of time and piano for a guide. .Time....upon reflection....is a tumultuous journey indeed. How is that for some free form train of thought....like jazz chit chat. I am just using up Ollie's space on the interactive at this point lol. He ain't heavy.....he's my brother !

Ron is a great mentor. You, Ollie, are now my mentor. And most certainly my guide when I finally "check off" NFLD from my Bucket List. And the beer will be on me, my friend; the screech will be on you!

Alas, Ron has forgotten more than I will ever know. If that makes me a mentor, then so be it. Newfoundland is beautiful, in so many ways The Screech will only amplify that beauty
