Truth and Reconciliation II: Honouring the students and their descendants who are living this reality everyday. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, which were established in the 1870s and existed until the mid-'90s. The unmarked graves being discovered across the country over the past few years proved that much of Canada's history of violence against Indigenous people is still being uncovered today.
