Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman, Girls, and Two-Spirit Relatives It refers to the human rights crisis of disproportionately high rates of violence, disappearances, and murder targeting Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit (2SLGBTQI+) individuals in Canada and beyond. This crisis is a direct result of colonialism and systemic discrimination, leading to overrepresentation in systems like child welfare and increased vulnerability to violence, exploitation, and trafficking.
