50 Years On – Music from my high school years (1967-1971)

The theme for this edition of Stranger Songs is "50 Years On – Music from my high school years (1967-1971)." I graduated from high school in Montreal in June of 1971 just over 50 years ago. All of the recordings on this show were originally on LPs released during my high school years, 1967-1971, and that I bought while I was a high school student. Click on LISTEN NOW to hear this show. What a difference a decade makes, Mike. I graduated from high school in '62; the hits from the previous 5 years were lyrically shallow and almost none of them were Canadian, with the notable exception of Paul Anka.

Good show, Mike. So many memories. I was one year ahead of you, but a lot of these songs were ones I listened to over and over.

Enjoying this show very much. While I graduated in 1998, I was listening to most of this as a teen also. I'm hoping to do a tribute to Joni Mitchell on my show Heavy Friends in the fall or after...
