Today we look at an interview from a few years ago with musician Chas Guay! Born in Montreal and influenced by the British Invasion and the 60s folk scene, Chas picked up the bass guitar at age 15. He eventually took his formidable talents to the PEI, forming the band "The Dogs". The Dogs would become a staple of the Charlottetown music scene, developing a reputation that would result in numerous calls for studio session work and backing roles with international touring acts. In the early 90s, Chas opened Back Alley Discs, a landmark resource for all things music on the east coast.
With a career that has spanned the last 5 decades, Chas moved to Ottawa in 2016 and formed Drifting Bird, a band dedicated to bringing his unique songwriting voice to life with beautifully arranged music to compliment his thoughtful and melancholic lyrics. More recently, he picked up his bass and got together with guitarist Dave Lauzon and our good friend Matt Aston on drums to form Original Soundtrack, bringing hard-driving psychedelic instrumentals to the stage.
