The Story and Lasting Legacy of Burundi Black hosted by Chris Lyne

We'll hear how an obscure field recording of Burundi tribal drummers in 1967 has been used by a wide range of musicians, producers and DJs in the West over the last 53 years. We'll also hear how the Drummers of Burundi later played an important part in the history of WOMAD (the World Of Music, Arts And Dance festival) that's been staged in many countries around the world, including Canada, since its inception in 1982. "The Listening Room" If you'd like to suggest a piece of music written around the topic of sleep, or Canadian music that you'd like to draw other people's ears to, please pop your recommendation into the interactive comments box at any time; we'll endeavour to play it on a future show.

Thank you HB—it was a lot of fun but for a variety of reasons WTMW had to come to an end. Even though I’m not on the air now, I remain an avid listener!
