Hi Steve—forgive me—I’ve fallen victim to the COVID time warp thing—for the last two years it’s been “SCHMURSDAY the 12th OF NEVER” I completely lost track of what week it was and of course missed BEDTIME STORIES.

The first time I remember hearing the words “El Mocambo” was probably when I was about 13 or 14 listening to a station up the radio dial here in Ottawa — they sometimes played “Live at the El Mocambo” records from various artists.

Hi Dave! This is quite a walk down memory lane for me—I can barely remember what day it is now, but some of these tunes sound like they did when I first heard them—some on CKCU and some on the radio station up the dial here in Ottawa. For example, I haven’t heard Nick Lowe in years!

Cool, Dav. 1978 was a couple of years before I really took to jazz, so I would've been oblivious to Sun Ra... until I moved to Ottawa and eagerly saw them at either Zinc or Banana Obscuri in Hull
