Bedtime Stories
Tuesday May 4th, 2021 with Chris Lyne
SLEEP - an hour of music for closed eyes and open ears.

"These bedtimes stories aren't intended to send you to sleep, but if that's what happens ....well, that's probably another good reason to tune in." The same applies to this evening's playlist: the music wasn't written specifically to assist sleep, but if you do nod off during the show, well, maybe it's just what you needed this evening. ;-) * The live broadcast of this evening's edition includes a long piece of music by local musician Mike Carss from his four volume set "Sleep Theory". The show is also available via the "On Demand" facility, but that version of the show is slightly different. In it you can hear a shortened version of this long piece of music coupled with another selection from the "Sleep Theory" set, but which doesn't feature in the live broadcast. "The Listening Room" If you'd like to suggest a piece of music written around the topic of sleep for a future broadcast please pop your recommendation into the interactive comments box at any time; we'll endeavour to play it on a future show.

Maybe we need a warning about driving or operating machinery while listening to this show. Looking forward to this evening’s show.

Don’t listen to Altus while on a bus.....you might forget to get off at your stop, like. I almost did.

This has got me thinking about songs with ‘sleep’ in them. Where Hides Sleep (Alison Moyer) and Sleepwalking (Level 42).
