Black History Month spotlight on Creation Rebel

Chance meeting on a UK tour of a Jamaican Prince and reggae musicians of a prolific drummer and a budding dub master Based in London, UK, Creation Rebel worked with Prince Far-I, Adrian Sherwood, and labels Hitrun, On-U Sound, and Cherry Red in the 1970s and 80s. Recording some of the best reggae dub music during the early English punk era, their music is languorous, funky, spacey, and totally intoxicating. Creation Rebel morphed into Singers & Players, African Head Charge, and Dub Syndicate. They variously contributed to the most significant UK reggae and dub acts of the 1980s, also including Aswad, Mark Stewart & Maffia, New Age Steppers, Playgroup, London Underground, and Suns of Arqa. Primary members: - drummer Eric "Fish" Clarke - drummer and percussionist Style Scott - guitar player and singer "Crucial" Tony Phillips - drummer Charlie "Eskimo" Fox - keyboard player Clifton "Bigga" Morrison - vocalist and bass player Keith "Lizard" Logan - composer and melodica player Peter Stroud aka. Doctor Pablo Pictured: Prince Far I, On-U Sound, and Creation Rebel are inextricably linked
Creation Rebel has its roots as Prince Far I's backing band The Arabs. Far I was also an early mentor to Adrian Sherwood as they worked together extensively, setting up deals to license Jamaican tunes for UK release.
