Ottawa Storytellers (un)told at the Ottawa Fringe Festival with Michael Lifshitz. Faced with self-isolation and quarantine, we’ve had to redefine how we connect and where we can find community. What does Connection mean for you in these times? Ottawa Storytellers (Un)told series partnered with the Ottawa Fringe Festival to host an evening of online storytelling on the theme of Connection. Today, in addition to continuing a successful career in finance and accounting as CFO and co-founder of Breakaway Experiences, a gift experience company, Michael Lifshitz uses speaking, comedy and writing to not only educate people as to what people with disabilities can do, but to also inspire them to overcome their own challenges and live their life to the fullest of their abilities. Jumpin' Joel Flash & The Magic Machine, plus the Ottawa Music Video Showcase. Joel is an entertainer, composer, singer, and sometimes actor who developed his on-the-fly style and triple-octave range through pure repetition. Non-stop rock with various bands and theatre productions over the course of 17 years. Joel is the co-host of The Monday Special Blend on CKCU FM, as well as the Tuesday Open Mic night at Live! on Elgin! Since 2018, he has sat on the Board of Directors for the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition. Joel has also worked with Rogers TV to create the Ottawa Music Video Showcase, in which five local artists (Andrew Cassara, LeFloFranco, Drae, Lynne Hanson, and Valois) show off their recent music video releases. Pixie Cram on Pragmatopia, screening (online)at the Gimli Film Festival. Pixie Cram is a live-action filmmaker and animator who lives in Ottawa. On top of her own art practice, she works as a freelance director, cinematographer and editor. Pragmatopia premieres at Manitoba’s Gimli Film Festival on Thursday July 23rd at 18h30 CDT (19h30 EST), in the live-stream program, From the Streets.
