About “Imposter Syndrome”: in the 70s this notion was called “The Peter Principal” with one caveat: with “The Peter Principal” it was the person NOT performing up to the expectations of the job, as in “being incompetent”. So that even if you were hired on merit, on your qualifications, it was others who judged you, not giving you the chance to prove yourself over time, making you feel like an imposter.
