I'm Talking Here!
Monday February 10th, 2020 with Joshua Robert Bateman and Josh Murray
Parasite for Sore Eyes: Life's a Peach, and then Judy
This morning-after-Oscars, your humble Joshes are eventually both here to discuss the night's big winners, including Taika Waititi, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger, Bong Joon-ho, and the latter's Best Picture-winning masterpiece, Parasite (2019), which made history in a number of ways.
Discussion swerves around, from the iffy ceremony to the generally favourable results, with a lot of discussion of foreign language film milestones, as well as The Artist (2011). And of course, they make fun of Randy Newman.
And in an annual CKCU tradition, Josh M. assesses his unusually accurate predictions from last year, and makes some way too early predictions for 2021's ceremony.
And on Friday, the Mayfair has a pretty superb double feature: Casablanca (1942) and Cry-Baby (1990).
