What's this you're saying? There aren't enough female artists to make it a gender-balanced line-up? Hmm, we will see about that. Plus some recent releases both from Ottawa and beyond.
Almost every week I read an article that speaks to the impossibility of putting together a gender-balanced line-up. The notion is ridiculous and only highlights the fact that the people putting together said line-ups just aren't in the know. So I wanted to dedicate part of the show to bands that are represented by female artists who have released music this past year. If I had the time I would do it by genre and city just to show the wealth of talent that is out there but it's only a two-hour show.
For the last half hour or so, I will play some fresh new tracks from some local artists and beyond.
