In celebration of Black History Month, you are invited to move through an all-levels 1-hr Hatha Vinyasa yoga flow to the beat of soothing Afro Caribbean music. This flow will be followed by a discussion focused on empowering more Black men and women to embrace the wellness movement and determining what wellness initiatives they would like to see in the upcoming future. Tuba: Overcoming homelessness through the power of music, @355 Cooper St. Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre and OrKidstra, is pleased to present a special film screening of “R.A.W. Still Rising, @Galerie Saw Gallery 67 Rue Nicholas St. We want to create a space that celebrates all of their resilience while recognizing that needing to be resilient is exhausting. Our wellness must be a continued project within our community and within ourselves. Still Rising is a two part event that endeavors to strike this balance. The event will begin with two workshops and end with a reception celebrating the work of outstanding black community members. As part of our new series of inspiring talks, spend an evening with author and community educator Wanda Robson as she honours the legacy of her sister, Viola Desmond. Ms. Robson is raising public awareness about the struggle for racial equality in Canada through her presentations and publications. On February 29 2020, students will work towards developing creative and efficient solutions to our proposed hackathon challenge: Programming a Sphero robot's navigation through an obstacle course.
