Berlinale Retrospective - Insightful Interviews about the Past

The 4th and final Berlin International Film Festival Broadcast has a focus on the past. It starts off with interviews with the Director of the latest interpretation of 'Berlin Alexanderplatz,' with an interview with Burhan Qurbani then with leads Welket Bungué & Jella Haase. Then we hear from the King Vidor retrospective programmer for the Berlinale: Connie Betz talking up the program as well as the films of King Vidor. We end with 2 film historians that have previously been on 'Mystic & Severe,' but in recorded conversations face to face in Berlin with Marcus Alexander Stiglegger & Jasper Sharp. Marcus chats about his first English language book on William Friedkin's 'Curising as well as Lucio Fulci & Jasper talks about the new Arrow Video box set for Shinya Tsukamoto that he contributed to as well as other Asian movies. The retrospective movies that Mike saw get reviewed: 'Bushido the Cruel Code of the Samurai,' & 'The Long Good Friday. Mike even review the new 'Ip Man 4,' Blu Ray! More typical 'Mystic & Severe,' movie music ties things together for a wonderful finale of Berlinale coverage.
