Essentially Political Movies: NDP Candidate Stéphanie Mercier, 3 TIFF Documentary Directors, an Israeli duo behind the upcoming film 'Incitement,' & a Programmer of a German Gangster Film Festival

While rather intense TIFF coverage continues you shall also most importantly hear from NDP Candidate for the Ottawa-Vanier riding about her platform, mobilization & Doug Ford's assault on education. Coming to Toronto from the Goethe Film Institute Toronto is the 'Stronger than Blood,' festival which features 3 German Gangster films which you can see at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on October 3rd the 8th & 10th. You'll hear about it from Programmer Jutta Brendemuhl! The three documentary directors who were interviewed are Andrew Renzi, Yung Chang and Barbara Kopple. Andrew's Showtime Documentary 'Ready for War,' looks at the unfortunate situation of illegal immigrants being deported after being members of the U.S. military. Yung's looks at the career of British journalist Robert Fisk who has being in the Middle East for 40 years covering but essentially the documentary looks at the disinterest in the truth. Barbara's looks at the Iranian hostage crisis back in 1979 with many of the principle actors in that story including President Jimmy Carter. Director Yaron Zilberman & his lead actor Yehuda Nahari Halevi discuss their excellently constructed film 'Incitement,' which looks at Israel during the 1990s through the eyes of the assassin of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin which leads to the rise of the Right Wing Likud Party. In between most of the interviews are soundtrack tracks which are all loosely linked to interview subjects!
