Shocktober done properly: the elegant and menacing music of Fabio Frizzi & 2 interviews
October should be a time to reflect on all of the great horror films. It is the genre with perhaps the most evocative of all soundtracks. Coming straight out of Rome, Italy is the music of Fabio Frizzi focusing on 2 of his soundtracks for Lucio Fulci: 'Cat in the Brain,' & ‘The Beyond.’ Pepe Avila del Pino is an accomplished cinematographer who I interviewed and he worked on my all time favorite show runner: David Simon. It is entirely appropriate then to play 2 of 5 of the theme songs of 'The Wire.' You will also hear from U of T Professor in Italian studies: Alberto Zambenedetti!
