In the Twenties & Thirties the word "Rock 'n' Roll" was also African American slang for having sex. When they sang about "rocking and rolling all night long" it wasn't dancing until the wee hours. The old blues guys and boogie woogie pianists must have wet themselves when they heard Alan Freed call it Rock 'N' Roll.
