Ted Daigle was an Ottawa country radio host, on CFRA, as I recall. I didn't listen to him, more to CKOY, but occasionally heard his voice. He pronounced his name 'à l'anglaise', as Ted Dagel (rhymes with bagel).

Yes. That's true. When I played in a punk band I wanted to do a sped up, punk rock version of the Platters' "Only You" but of course the Platters weren't punk enough and the lead singer shot it down.
