Renny's Riot
Wednesday February 1st, 2023 with Reversing Renny
A collision of the past with the present, starting with a feature on the Welsh trio, The Bug Club. Then a tribute to recently deceased rockabilly, Johnny Powers. A ferocious Can Con cram & in the last half hour, hep music for sugar crazed toddlers.

We saw the A-Bones a coupla times.....once right here in London Ontario and they forced us to take them to a Tim Hortons as they'd never been to one before. Other time was with Hasil Adkins and that was an experience I'll never forget.

I want Miriam Linna either put on a Canadian stamp or on some currency. She drummed with the Cramps for god's sake! She drummed in The A-Bones. She (& Bill) were responsible for both Kicks magazine & Norton Records. She deserves the order of Canada at the very least.

Buzz Deluxe did a couple of shows with Evil Farm Children, in Toronto and Montreal. Fun duo that traveled with Jack Russell terriers.

Any group that travels with their dogs has my deepest admiration. Especially terriers.

TEENAGE HEAD!!!! Loudest band i ever heard. At Rondun Tavern, Roscesvale Ave, T.O. circa 1975-ish. Dance floor about the size of a postage stamp, amps to the ceiling, all at 11. As my friend, let's call him Henry ('cause that is his name) said while beer bottles and other projectile were flying: "what the *&%# i can'd hear a &^%#@ thing, j&%@# c&^@+ this is *&@%'in dangerous du%# Me: WHAAAATTT!!! My ears are bleeding!! *&^# INCOMING!! q;^)

Jiminy Crickets! That sounds harrowing. No, I'm not fond of shows that are too loud. Even when I'm at home alone I never blast the music.

On-demand here. I really like that your whole first set is from one band. This kind of thing -- even if just down to 2-3 songs, perhaps from one album -- should be done more often. Fun stuff.

Yeah, great whole show. Mucho rockabilly, etc. A second set all by one guy or band. Fiftymen! Thanks!
