On today’s show, I have an interview for you with Rolly Montpelier of 350 Ottawa and Below 2C. He’s going to tell us about the huge global strike for climate that is happening next Friday, Sept. 27 here in Ottawa and around the world. Mark you calendars folks because this is going to be big. On the eve of the federal election in October, thousands of students in Ottawa will be walking out of school next Friday and meeting in Confederation Park as one of hundreds of climate strike actions taking place in dozens of countries. This is all inspired of course by the incredible teen climate activist Greta Thunberg who started striking from her school in Sweden a couple years ago when she was just 15 years old. She has inspired a climate strike movement around the world that has now reached millions. And whoever said that one person couldn’t make a big difference? The strikes in Canada will be sending a message to the political parties that we are in a crisis situation and Canadians are demanding serious action to avert a climate catastrophe. Half measures are not going to cut it anymore. So Rolly will be joining us to tell us all about the day of action and how to get involved. I know I’ll be there with my daughter.
