Today's episode spotlights the (growing!) catalog of "modest polymath" Kim Gordon. Celebrated as a founding member of NYC noise rock outfit Sonic Youth (among others, including: Harry Crews, Free Kitten, Body/Head & Glitterbust) Gordon doesn't rest on her self-taught musical laurels. She is also a mother, visual artist, curator, writer and actress.
Now 70, Gordon will unveil her sophomore solo album, The Collective, on March 8th via Matador Records. In anticipation of her six-date tour this spring, this special edition of First Crush explores vignettes of Gordon's discography from her Sonic Youth days to present.
