613 Sounds with Kingsley Swim of Hit The Streets
Hey First Crush listeners!
Welcome to the second instalment of 613 Sounds, an hour of locally-focused music and event programming to celebrate and elevate the rich atmosphere of our city. On today’s program, I have an interview with local activist Kingsley Swim, the co-founder Hit The Streets. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Kingsley and her team have utilized their boots-on-the-ground approach to serve over 1000 hot meals and other life necessity to those in need in person throughout the Ottawa area. I had the chance to chat with her earlier this week about the origin of the grassroots collective, and how her and her team plan to mobilize their efforts further in the coming months.
As always, I am constantly looking for more local music to feature on my show. Got anything that should be on my radar? Send me an email at firstcrushpromotion@gmail.com!
