| "The Green Desert" is an intriguing sorta-archival release by Tangerine Dream. Originally released in 1986, it consisted of "lost" Atem-period recordings (August 1973) involving only Franke and Froese, which are then touched up in the studio using then-modern technology by Froese. This revisionism was unpopular with many fans, although it is worth saying that if you envision this album without those additions, it seems a bit... unfinished. In any case, this is what it is, and without an option to listen to an idealized version that may not even exist, I'm happy to say I like this one just fine. |
