Pictured: Marian Zazeela (right) was a visual artist, singer and Tanpura player (Indian drone). She was a member of the experimental music collective Theatre of Eternal Music, led by her husband, the minimalist composer La Monte Young (left). Zazeela designed album covers and produced the lighting and visuals for the group's self-described "dream music" that explored drones and pure harmonic intervals, employing sustained tones and electric amplification in lengthy, all-night performances. Zazeela collaborated with Andy Warhol and her works have been shown at the Museum of Modern Art. Marian Zazeela died at age 83.
